Hi I'm Fay, a passionate Religious Education specialist with nearly 20 years of teaching experience in secondary schools across Greater Manchester. Throughout my career, I’ve worked in Local Authority (LA), Church of England (CofE), and Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) schools, giving me a broad understanding of diverse educational settings and approaches to RE.
Beyond the classroom, I am dedicated to teacher training and professional development. As the RE Hub Lead for Rochdale SACRE, I support schools in strengthening their RE provision. I have also led CPD training for teachers, helping them develop engaging and effective RE teaching strategies.
I am a Visiting Fellow for the NPQLT and NPQLTD, working with educators to improve leadership in teaching and curriculum development. Additionally, I serve as an ITT lead and mentor, supporting new teachers through their training, and as an ECT induction tutor, guiding early career teachers in their professional journey.
As a committed member of AREIAC (Association of RE Inspectors, Advisers & Consultants) and NATRE (National Association of Teachers of RE), I stay actively engaged in shaping the future of Religious Education at both a local and national level.
I am currently undertaking a PhD in Education, sponsored by the Culham St Gabriel's Trust, focusing on moral development, curriculum design, and resilience to radicalisation in the context of far-right extremism. My research aims to contribute to the wider understanding of how Religious Education can foster critical thinking, ethical reasoning, and social cohesion
I am passionate about developing high-quality RE curricula, supporting teachers, and ensuring that students receive an enriching and meaningful Religious Education.
